Nose Work/Scent Work- Beginner and Intermediate

K9 Scent Work or Nose Work is a detection sport that allows your dog to use their natural and amazing scenting abilities in a positive way! It is low impact and low stress but mentally and physically stimulating. Scent Work is perfect for dogs of all ages and sizes. It can be done anywhere and no special equipment is required. Since only one dog is worked at a time, the environment is especially helpful for shy, rescued, fearful or reactive dogs to work in.

The beginner class will focus on creating a clear indication for the dogs with a focused alert. We will focus on teaching dogs to work independently of the owners and how each owner can read their dogs indication. We will do some searching and will introduce odors.

Intermediate class will focus on search scenarios and trial preparations. We will look at problem solving and also look at the focused indication.
